What’s in a name?

My roommate and I have this enormous pet peeve… Proper name calling is a rule in our house.

What you call something can really paint a picture in the head of what that thing is supposed to look like, taste like, and be.

Krispy Kreme muffins… You have me asking then why does my breakfast taste like a cupcake?

Pancakes (no eggs!!!)… Hmmm they sure do look like crepes did I make them wrong?

Avocado Butter… why does my butter taste like the guacamole I had last night!?!

Just a mini rant on our part, but seriously people can we please stick to calling things what they actually are?

Some muffins are legit muffins but calling some sugary baked thing that may look like a muffin breakfast doesn’t make it a muffin… A cupcake is a cupcake whether you eat it in the morning, afternoon, or at night. I you want a cupcake for breakfast go ahead and have one! But you might be hungry sooner than your normal lunch time so bring a snack 😉

Pancakes are fluffy, crepes are not. Both are really good but when I went into it thinking I was making fluffy pancakes and got crepes, I will be extremely disappointed with my breakfast not going to lie.

I love Avocado, I spread it, eat it sliced, and intend to bake it with egg very soon. But I also love butter, and when I want a buttered roll I am not thinking of a guacamoled roll. Both creamy and delicious but in my book an avocado spread is guac and butter should always come from a cow (or goat or something else that gives milk) not the ground.

O.K. I am done. Have a great day! And thanks for enduring my rambling rant 😉

A Random Babble of Life

I have know clue what a babble is… If someone does then clue me in because I think I just made up the word!

Really I just wanted to post a bunch of random stuff about life today because I don’t want to tackle either of the more “serious thinking” posts I have forming in my head 🙂

So I thought I would post a couple of my favorite types of meals for your visual pleasures (well it might not be pleasurable as my camera skills are less than adequate).

A Breakfast for Hospital Working Champions!

Two Vita Tops (banana chocolate chip and chocolate chocolate chip) topped with a spread of peanut butter with a banana on the side. Fiber + Healthy Fat = one happy diet office volunteer that morning!

Wonders of an Acorn Squash!

I picked this little baby up at the neighborhood fruit stand one afternoon and had to have it that very night for dinner! I baked it in the oven (upside down – O! and I forgot to spray the pan) @ 375 F for about 30 minutes then topped it off with two scoops of almond butter and cinnamon. My tummy was squash happy!

Chocolate Greek Yogurt (for the Gods)

I have my twin to thank for introducing me to this creation. I had been using Hershey’s cocoa powder at school but I am out.  Here is the thing to know (are you ready?) Ghirardelli is the better tasting, but Hershey’s is the better mixing when it comes to yogurt… just something to keep in mind when choosing your product of choice.

Now here are my yogurt bylaws (made up and only I really follow them)

  1. Plain Greek yogurt (preferably Fage but this is Dannon Oikos) mixed with cinnamon, peanut flour, or chocolate
  2. Placed in the freezer for about 30 minutes (depends how good or bad your freezer works in my dorm it would take more like an hour)
  3. Eat when the top (like 1/2 inch) is nice and ice rink like
  4. ALWAYS (now this i never break) eat with a banana for dipping 🙂

Well there you have my babble. It feels good to think about nothing serious or mind boggling for the day 🙂 because today was about babysitting, celebrating my best friend’s brother’s graduation from high school, and PVP (pre-vacation pedicures) with mom.  Now I am off to make ice cream cupcakes for Father’s Day.

What are your plans for tomorrow’s special day?
